 -Based Assessment (SBA)Workshop for Newly Appointed Teachers of CSEC Chemi
 stry\n\nDescription: To support the effective implementation of School-Bas
 ed Assessment (SBA) for CSEC® Chemistry\, the Curriculum Planning and Dev
 elopment Division has developed a one-day workshop (two cohorts\, one per 
 day). Feedback from the 2025 SBA moderation cycle\, from Heads of Departme
 nt and teachers\, has highlighted the need for targeted support to strengt
 hen SBA practices. This workshop is designed to enhance teachers’ unders
 tanding and application of SBA requirements while addressing identified ch
 allenges. Participants will engage in collaborative activities aimed at cr
 itically examining existing approaches and reflecting on areas for ongoing
  professional improvement.\n\nObjectives: \n\n\n1. Outline key areas in t
 he syllabus for the delivery and implementation of the SBA and their impli
 cations for student learning and performance.\n2. Identify documents requi
 red to prepare for CSEC® moderation of the School-Based Assessment (SBA) 
 in Chemistry.\n3. Evaluate different types of feedback and their implicati
 ons for promoting scientific skill development\n4. Examine criteria for ob
 servation\, recording and reporting\, measurement and manipulation\, analy
 sis and interpretation skills and planning and design.\n\n\nTarget Audienc
 e: Secondary school teachers of CSEC Chemistry with 4 years and less exper
 ience teaching CSEC Chemistry\n\nMode of Delivery: Face to Face \n\nSpeci
 fic Instructions: Participants are asked to bring or have access to the CS
 EC Chemistry syllabus and relevant SBA records. Lunch and snacks will be t
 he responsibility of participants.
