SUMMARY:Student Support Services Division (SSSD)
DESCRIPTION:Restorative Practices and Using Circles Effectively\nDESCRIPTION: \nThe Use of Operant Conditioning in the Classroom Training provides Restorative Practices Facilitators (RPFs) with insights into applying behavioural psychology principles to manage and shape student behaviour effectively. This training focuses on understanding and utilizing reinforcement and consequences to encourage positive behaviours and reduce undesirable ones. By integrating operant conditioning within a restorative framework\, the training aims to help facilitators create a classroom environment where positive behaviours are consistently reinforced\, and restorative methods are employed to address and correct disruptive behaviours. \nRestorative Conferencing Training provides Restorative Practices Facilitators (RPFs) with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct structured\, dialogue-based meetings that address conflicts and harm within the school community. This training focuses on guiding participants through the process of bringing together those affected by an incident—both the person who caused harm and those impacted—to collectively discuss the harm\, understand its effects\, and agree on steps to repair relationships. The training emphasizes empathy\, accountability\, and collaborative problem-solving\, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected.\n\nTARGET AUDIENCE: Teachers \nVENUE:
