Description: This workshop is designed to equip parents and caregivers of young children with the knowledge, skills, and practical strategies needed to support children’s emotional, social, and developmental well-being. Participants will explore key areas including healthy parent-child relationships, effective communication, positive discipline, emotional connection, and the creation of nurturing and supportive home environments. The workshop will also highlight the influence of caregivers’ own emotional well-being and parenting responses on children’s sense of safety, confidence, resilience, and overall development.

Objective:

1. Understand the importance of strong, secure parent-child relationships during early childhood.
2. Identify the emotional and developmental needs of young children.
3. Explore positive parenting approaches that encourage cooperation and healthy behaviour.
4. Strengthen positive discipline skills while reducing harsh or reactive responses.
5. Identify ways to create a safe, nurturing, and emotionally supportive home environment.
6. Develop practical strategies for building resilience and confidence in young children.
7. Recognise when a child or family may benefit from additional psychosocial or professional support.
