Topic: PEARL Teacher Training, Session 2 – CDC Developmental Milestone Checklists (4-year and 5-year)
Description: Second Tier I instrument session, delivered by education district cluster. Covers the CDC Developmental Milestone checklists across the motor, language, cognitive and social-emotional domains, how age at completion is recorded past the sixth birthday, and the milestone-based referral triggers.
Objectives:
Teachers will be able to:
(1) complete the 4-year and 5-year checklists from classroom observation;
(2) record age at completion correctly, including past the sixth birthday;
(3) apply the milestone referral rules – one milestone not met means monitor; two or more in one domain, or any prompt-attention item, means a Tier II referral;
(4) identify language-domain concerns that trigger hearing screening.
Target Audience: ECCE Administrators and ECCE Teachers, Infant Year I teachers and Infant Year II teachers, PEARL SAMPLE: 177 pilot institutions
