Topic: Professional Development Programme for Secondary School Spanish Teachers Cohort 2

Description: This professional development course is designed to enhance the linguistic proficiency, pedagogical expertise, and cultural competence of CSEC & CAPE secondary school Spanish teachers in Trinidad and Tobago. The course integrates principles of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), process writing pedagogy, and culturally responsive teaching to improve instructional effectiveness and student outcomes.

Objectives: 

1. Improve the oral proficiency of secondary school Spanish teachers of Forms 4 to 6, with particular emphasis on fluency, pronunciation, and classroom communication.
2. Promote effective pedagogical strategies to enhance students’ writing skills in Spanish.
3. Support the meaningful infusion of Mexican culture into the teaching and learning of Spanish through authentic and engaging classroom practices.

Target Audience: Forms 4 to 6 Spanish Teachers of CSEC & CAPE
