Topic: Student Consumption Survey – Field Data Collector Training
Description: Standardised training of field teams for the Student Consumption Survey baseline across the 112-school frame (77 primary schools with enrolment above 100 and 35 secondary schools, approximately 44,380 students, across all seven Trinidad education districts, with dedicated Tobago arrangements). Covers instrument administration, food models and portion estimation, anthropometric measurement, consent and assent, and the Tobago quality-assurance plan.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to-
(1) administer the approved instrument consistently across schools;
(2) take height, weight and waist-circumference measurements to standard with acceptable inter-observer variability;
(3) apply consent, assent and child-safeguarding procedures;
(4) complete field documentation and daily quality-assurance checks.
Target Audience: Field data collectors: EHSU nurses, NMD-MoH officers, NSDSL officers and trained field assistants
Mode of Delivery: In person, three-day workshop with practical stations
